If you have a small frame Glock, and you need to replace the front site, you need this.
It’s not a matter of want, you literally need it if you have a small frame Glock and you wanna put a new front site on it. Worked great on my generation three G26. I’m a car mechanic so I thought I had all the tools needed because I have a large frame Glock and I was able to do that one without anything special, but on the small frame you need this tool. It’s got a great little magnetic tip in the inside and it’s just the perfect width and strength for the job. Don’t annoy yourself trying to do it any other way. Just buy this tool, use it, enjoy it and let your friends borrow it.
The only socket that could get my front site off. The point of the head of the bolt was flush against the slide. This was the only socket that worked. Glock tool 3-in-1 was a no go. Truglo tool was a no go. Fix it sticks was the only one that worked and can be accepted into my wera torque wrench:)
I love this tool it has made swapping the front sight so much easier. The magnetic end is the real difference maker.
I use this tool in junction with my Leatherman Mut and the extension bit.
The tool is well designed for light use and a hobbyist. As an Agency armorer who has used these to install over 400 sets if tritium night sights, I can say that the material is too soft for serious long term use. These are disposable, as after about 20-30 uses, the soft material starts to round out and the tool becomes useless for tightening. We consume these constantly
Great tool much easier to use than any of the other front site tools for the Glock. I’ve tried. However, the magnet needs to be reset just a 30 seconds of an inch or 64th of an inch deeper. It’s just slightly too shallow to really get a good grip all the time. It’s a nine out of 10 for me especially compared to the other things I’ve had fix a stick. Makes a very high-quality product.
Quality control. The tool was not made correctly and could not be used. The screw head did not fit into it. E-mailed and called twice to get a replacement shipped.
The "Fix-It tool is a great tool and when used with a 1/4" socket and ratchet, was able to easily remove a Glock front sight screw that had blue loctite used when originally installed.
The only tool that was able to get enough purchase and leverage on the screw to allow loosening without having to heat up the area on the slide.
I have other slender 3/!6" sockets that fit onto the sight screw, but could not able enough torque with their straight screw driver type handle.
The 'Fix-It' tool solved this problem!
So this is a great design and it gives you a lot more torque to remove the front sight screw. However being an agency armorer I have gone through three of them because they stripped out and would no longer make positive contact enough to tighten or remove the screw. I think that they need to be hardened tool steel (not a metallurgist) so they don't strip out as easily. Basically I love using it but it could use a harder more durable tool steel.
The Glock from sight bolt is very small and flat making it difficult to use a tool to loosen the bolt to so you can adjust or remove the sight. The Glock front sight tool from fix it sticks works perfectly to grab the hex head of this bolt so it can be loosened and/or removed. The magnet in the Glock site tool helps to keep the attached to the tool so it won’t be lost during removal. This is a great tool to add to a fox it sticks kit if you have a Glock pistol.
